CHATEAU LA GAMAYE CUVÉE PRESTIGE
Corney & Barrow is always looking for the best-in-class wines and talented winemakers that reveal the terroir with passion.
This is the case for the Domaine Bourceau now run by Wilfried, representing the 6th generation of the Bourceau Family and producing Château La Gamaye Cuvée Prestige.
Overlooking the Gironde River, the Bourceau vineyard is located in the North of Bordeaux in the Cotes de Blayes Appellation.
After working many years in the wine industry for negociants, Wilfried returned to the family business 3 years ago and has since started to convert the vineyard to organic agriculture.
The blend of Château La Gamaye is made of 30 year old Merlot vines (90%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (10%) growing on calcareous-clay soil.
The skin maceration is made under low temperature (8°C) to extract the maximum of fruits with long pumping over during the middle of the alcoholic fermentation.
10 months of maturation take place in stainless steel tanks followed by another 10 months in oak barrels.
This offer allows you to compare two vintages made by two different generation of winemakers and pays tribute to the family heritage.
2015 is the last vintage made by Frank Bourceau. It was a warm year producing generous and gourmand wines. 2016 is Wilfried’s first vinification on his own and is characterised by elegance and freshness.
Château La Gamaye Cuvée Prestige is a delicious Bordeaux wine that should be counted among your favorite everyday drinking tipples.
