FRANÇOIS CARILLON DOMAINE 2019 VINTAGE EN PRIMEUR
François is the 16th generation of Carillons in Puligny-Montrachet. The family has made wine in Puligny since the 16th century. Domaine François Carillon was established in the 2010 vintage, after François’ father retired and Domaine Louis Carillon was split between François and his brother Jacques. François started working with his father in 1988 (he was responsible for the vineyards).
DOMAINE LABRUYÈRE 2019 VINTAGE EN PRIMEUR
Domaine Labruyère is the oldest estate in Moulin-à-Vent, founded in 1850. It consists of 14 hectares of vines. Geographically, this is Beaujolais, although you can feel the pull of Burgundy to the north in Le Carquelin’s gorgeous Pinot-like purity and the Rhône to the south, in the layered spices of Le Clos.
CHÂTEAU DE LA TOUR & DOMAINE PIERRE LABET 2019 VINTAGE EN PRIMEUR
François Labet never seems to sit still. In addition to his presidency of the Vins de Bourgogne Wine Board (BIVB), he was awarded the Légion d’honneur in 2019 for service to Burgundy. His son Edouard is now a key member of the team. When not in the vines, Edouard is just as good at working roomfuls of wine lovers. He charmed his way through the C&B tastings in London and Edinburgh last year, as well as online during the pandemic. François Labet described 2019 as “a roller-coaster, in line with the last few warm vintages… with something more.” This ‘something more’ is key to a vintage which will go down as a great success at both estates.
MITJAVILE 2019 VINTAGE EN PRIMEUR
One of Saint-Émilion’s greatest vineyards, Tertre Roteboeuf is a sweeping amphitheatre of vines. At its helm is the impassioned and philosophical François Mitjavile. François also makes Roc de Cambes, a separate estate in the nearby Côtes de Bourg appellation and a star of the right bank in its own right.
The family’s uncompromising approach has become its hallmark and, in these strangest of times, it will without a doubt prove right again. We are extremely lucky to have a close relationship with these fabulous estates – direct access has never been more important and this vintage is not to be missed.
During the 1960s, Gianfranco Soldera was an insurance broker in Milan, a role he continued alongside wine until 2003. Having earned enough to purchase a vineyard, Gianfranco scoured Italy for land where he and his wife Graziella could produce world class wine. Importantly, it was not just wine, but world class wine which was the remit from the outset. He simply would not have settled for anything less.
Today, this most special of estates is in great family hands with Gianfranco’s daughter Monica, son Mauro and the wider family. The latest 2015 Vintage is a gem of a wine and justifies the outstanding reputation of this vineyard. We are extremely proud to represent Soldera in Asia, excluding Taiwan, Japan and Korea. DOMAINE COMTE ARMAND
Domaine Comte Armand, also known as Domaine des Epeneaux, is located in Pommard (Côte-d’Or). It has nine hectares of vines, of which the most important part is a magnificent five hectare monopole of Pommard 1er Cru Clos des Epeneaux, planted 100% to Pinot Noir. The domaine takes its name from this plot, which is one of the largest monopoles in Burgundy.
The domaine is certified organic by Ecocert and is run biodynamically. No chemicals or pesticides are used, only plant-based treatments, in the form of teas and decoctions (nettles, dandelion, horsetail for instance). The soil is ploughed and the vines are worked the same way. In the course of the year, up to 60 people work at the domaine, with a large part at harvest time. So much manual labor as opposed to usage of chemicals is to preserve the microbiological life of the vineyard and train the vines to fight for themselves.
2018 was a good vintage in Burgundy, warm to very warm, with little un ordinary challenges during the growing season. All the wines were sumptuous and confirmed our feeling to have added a real gem of a Domaine to our portfolio.
DOMAINE FRANÇOIS CARILLON
2018 VINTAGE EN PRIMEUR
François is the 16th generation of Carillons in Puligny-Montrachet. The family has made wine in Puligny since the 16th century. Domaine François Carillon was established in the 2010 vintage, after François’ father retired and Domaine Louis Carillon was split between François and his brother Jacques. François started working with his father in 1988 (he was responsible for the vineyards). 2018 is the domaine’s 9th vintage – and our 9th year as appointed Hong Kong & Singapore agents.
C&B is proud to have been Domaine François Carillon’s Hong Kong & Singapore agents since the beginning.

DOMAINE DU PÉLICAN
Domaine du Pélican is based in Montigny-lès-Arsures near Arbois, in the Jura region, between Burgundy and Switzerland. The Domaine was established in 2012 as a partnership between Guillaume d’Angerville, of Domaine Marquis d’Angerville in Volnay, and his longstanding
régisseur in Volnay, François Duvivier. The wines are
vinified, barrel-aged and bottle-aged at the estate.
DOMAINE MARQUIS D’ANGERVILLE
2018 VINTAGE EN PRIMEUR
Domaine Marquis d’Angerville is a jewel of Volnay and an ambassador for Côte de Beaune Pinot Noir. The estate’s ownership by the Dukes of Burgundy in the 12th century is acknowledged in the name of its most illustrious vineyard, the premier cru monopole Clos des Ducs. Since 1804, the estate has been owned by one family. Guillaume d’Angerville describes the 2018s as “dense, concentrated and outgoing (like the season), but… also fresh, fluid and long.” He notes, “Beautifully ripe tannins have come to compensate for a lower than usual acidity and give excellent balance and energy to the wines.” The 2018 vintage (En Primeur)is available exclusively through C&B in Singapore.
CHÂTEAU DE LA TOUR & DOMAINE PIERRE LABET
2018 VINTAGE EN PRIMEUR
Two very different estates, one in the heart of the Clos-Vougeot, the other with holdings in Beaune, Meursault and Gevrey-Chambertin. Yet they share much: the wines are all 100% whole-bunch vinified, with long élevage in barrel, in the recently extended cellars of Château de la Tour, one of only three buildings within the Clos. These estates have a long and illustrious history in Burgundy and produce some of the regions most respected wines, we are proud to represent these estates in Singapore.
TERTRE ROTEBOEUF, ROC DE CAMBES & L’AURAGE
THE MITJAVILE FAMILY
2018 VINTAGE, EN PRIMEUR
Three estates, three magnificent wines – Terte Roteboeuf (Saint-Émilion Grand Cru), Roc de Cambes (Bourg-Côtes de Bordeaux) and L’Aurage Castillon-Côtes de Bordeaux. Each have their unique personalities, as you would expect from their three varied terroirs. However there is a familiar resemblance at work here, a Mitjavile DNA if you like. This is a world of late picking, in which fruit and tannin maturity is everything and in which the pervasive freshness of the wines seems to defy their ultra-ripeness and 100% new oak. We are proud to offer this wines exclusively in Singapore.
