Pouilly-Fuissé Clos Reyssier 1er Cru Esprit Leflaive 2020

France / Burgundy / Côte de Beaune

This single-vineyard Pouilly-Fuissé comes from a 1.12 hectare east-facing, early ripening plot in Chaintré, planted in 1950. As of this 2020 vintage, it is a premier cru. Bright golden colour.

"The nose offers yellow flower perfume, leading into a palate of delectable yellow peach, with notes of almond and marzipan. Aged for one year in oak barrels (15% new) then six months in stainless steel vats."

EXCLUSIVE PRODUCER

Esprit Leflaive

Esprit Leflaive is a brand new venture between Brice de La Morandiere, Leflaive family incumbent and head of Domaine Leflaive, and highly respected Pierre Vincent, Leflaive’s winemaker and general manager since 2017.

This audacious push beyond Leflaive Cote De Beaune heartland and holdings in the Maconnais sees the Puligny-Montrachet-based domaine advance on the Cote de Nuits and Chablis, adding new realms of Pinot Noir to its already conquered empire of Chardonnay.

Region

Burgundy

Burgundy’s wine industry complexity and tremendous diversity are the result of geological accident. Centuries ago, faulting tore the great valley apart, easing the passage of the nearby Saône River.
